 What can we learn from history? Mormon and his son Moroni were not only prophets and leaders of their people, but also historians. And what was their message to us, their intended readers? “That you might be wiser than us.” Their story was a warning not to follow the Nephite path to death and destruction: Rather, follow the prophet–walk in the Lord’s statutes…walk where Jesus walked. We have assembled some fascinating stories in Church history to help accomplish the mission of Latter Day Radio: to share faith-affirming messages to help members keep a firm grip on the iron rod and dismiss all the jeers from the crowd in the “large and spacious building.” We believe we have nothing to fear from Church history if it is shared by people who tell the truth. One such episode to illustrate that is the 1978 Revelation on the Priesthood when the First Presidency announced that henceforth “all worthy male members could receive the Priesthood without regard to race or color”–in three podcasts. More podcasts are coming–hope you like them!
