What evidence do most people need in order to believe? For Laman and Lemuel in I Nephi, even seeing an angel wasn’t enough. How did they respond to Nephi just a chapter or two later after their angelic visit?  In essence, they said “the Lord doesn’t make such things known to us.” What is sufficient to prompt someone to believe? Alma says simply, it is a “desire to know;” it is spiritual inquisitiveness that springs from hope, a yearning to know the answers to questions about eternal matters. The Lord promises us, “ask and ye shall receive, knock and it shall be opened unto you.” We simply want listeners to ask, “is there a God, and how can I know Him? Or, is there REALLY life after death? How can I learn more?” But, in every case, evidence and witnesses generally only hold sway when the inquirer has a broken heart and a contrite spirit and is searching for truth. We pray these podcasts will open that door.
